'MoveME' will enable the development of engaging mobile apps for visitors that adapt as you move about museums, art galleries and exhibitions.
Easing the development of smartphone and tablet applications, the new technology will deliver additional information on objects in exhibitions and collections. It will actively deliver content based on the user’s location, and the direction they are facing. It will also assist museums and galleries to quickly and cost effectively install indoor location tracking infrastructure and reporting tools.
Julian Bickersteth, Director of Smarttrack RFID said, “I’m excited that the NSW Government has recognised our potential to develop a world-leading solution by supporting the collaboration between the members of our consortium.”
MoveME will provide institutions with the ability to gather detailed visitor numbers enhanced by information about the visitor journeys and dwell times. This will provide new and valuable insights for curators and exhibition designers along with a whole new way to experiment with design and layout of their physical spaces and objects. Ultimately, it will allow institutions to refine the content delivered to visitors to reflect their interests, as demonstrated by actual visitors to the museum, gallery or exhibition.
Kevin Cohen, CEO of RAMP RFID said “This project has given us the opportunity to further develop our Locamate mobile tracking technology and to work with our partners to implement and test in a live environment. We see massive potential in taking this solution global and are excited by the opportunities”.

RAMP RFID's OnRamp Asset Tracker is being used to track assets at an iron ore expansion project in Western Australia.
The CS101 UHF Gen 2 handheld reader from Convergence Systems Limited and the Confidex Ironside tag are used in the project.
Confidex Captura is the newest member of the Confidex Class 1 Gen 2 tag portfolio and it steps into an unprecedented level in both C1G2 tag security and usability. The tag comes with both mechanical and electrical seal functions and is extremely easy and fast to attach. As there is no need for adhesives, screws or other fixing tools, it is simple to calculate the total cost of ownership for Captura. Just click, secure and tag your asset!
Confidex Captura is fixed in a few seconds without any additional fixing materials. It fits to most of the RTI's where there is a place to lock the hook. When required, the Captura can be delivered as encoded and equipped with a barcode according to the project requirements. As the Captura can be taken into use directly from the box in a few seconds, it is easy to calculate the return on investment and the total cost of the ownership of the tags.
Captura provides reliable identification in 3 meter (9,8ft) wide RFID gates. It is designed to be fixed on metal structures and its intelligent patent pending design makes use of the tagged object to achieve the best possible RF performance.

This paper outlines the cost-benefit analysis of using Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in an asset-tracking application. An experiment comparing RFID with bar-coding was conducted, and the findings from this experiment were further analysed from the point of view of a hypothetical, but realistic asset tracking operation. To simplify this analysis, the logistical life cycle of a singular asset throughout an organisation is considered, from receiving the asset, through to decommissioning.
